So, Clay Aiken, of whom I knew absolutely nothing but his name and the fact that he has something to do with "American Idol," (I don't watch it, because I detest the kind of music it centers on) came out as gay in "People" the other day. He has a bunch of fans who are shocked, hurt, and dismayed by this. I was confused why anyone would react this way, until I read that Clay, like many of his fans, is a born again Christian.

I really want to know what Donnie Davies thinks about this.

	It means newly-converted, but it implies newly-converted to a conservative fundamentalist or evangelical Christian sect. I think it's probably also inaccurately used also simply to mean any conservative fundamentalist Christian. (Reply to this) (Parent)(Thread)

What?

It's true that, speaking literally, it's necessary to die in order to be born again, but, I have no idea how this relates to Clay Aiken. And, since

wihst3dimpnity isn't a native English speaker, I'm concerned that she may think that she's confused because she's not a native English speaker, when in fact she's confused because you're not making any sense.

eta: I hope that didn't sound angry; I'm just really confused as to what you're saying. But, I do like that icon.

En général, si je ne comprends pas quelque chose ET que ça vient d'une personne que je ne connais pas, je n'y porte aucune attention ;) A mon avis, il a voulu faire de l'humour étant donné que c'est vrai que c'est ce que signifie Born again. Ou il a pensé que je suis idiote car comme tu lui as dis, il ne s'est peut-être pas douté que je suis française !

For d_willrobinson, I knew what born again means, it's just that i didn't understood the concept of the sentence in this particular story but i noticed that it was the 'key fact' of the story so i asked what it means so i would understand the story and i did :p
